DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

This weekends shooting victims ID’d

(Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 30, 2013) – Police identified two victims who were shot early Sunday. The shootings do not appear to be related and both victims are expected to recover. The first happened at 1:02 a.m. in the 200 block of Pequonnock Street.  The victim,  Mireteab Berhe, 30, of Bridgeport, suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot. A witness provided a general description of the shooter but police located no one in the area. At 2:38 a.m., in  the 1000 block of Kossuth Street  police located  victim, David Rodriguez, 26, of Bridgeport, with a gunshot wound to his left knee. Westport woman found in river was hit by train

Westport, CT- Following information concerning injuries to Annette White which was received from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), Westport Police Department detectives began to review video footage of the Saugatuck train station. Review of video footage of the Saugatuck River Bridge showed a westbound Metro North Railroad train stop on the bridge for approximately 20 minutes on December 26th. This morning detectives also received a call from someone who had been a passenger on the same train and who had watched news reports of the incident on television.
