11:57pm--#Bridgeport CT--Reports of shots fired near Bassick High School . Two teens seen running on State Street towards Family Dollar then hop into a gray car that sped off.
Body in Westport identified
Westport, Ct- The deceased individual recovered from the entrance of the Saugatuck River earlier today has been identified as Annette L White Age: 45 White was a resident of the State of Maine, but had been recently living at a home in Westport. Cause and Manner of death are pending from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Farmington, CT. The matter is currently under investigation by the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau anyone who had contact with the victim is asked to contact the Westport Police Department at 203- 341-6000.
Bridgeport Fire
7:31pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were on scene at 8 Montgomery Street for a small trash can fire in basement. The fire was quickly extinguished and the fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate,
Merritt Crash
6:04pm--#Stratford CT--#cttraffic--Merritt Parkway southbound near exit 53 on the Sikorsky Bridge, multiple vehicles involved according to state police.
Stratford Rollover
2:28pm--#Stratford CT--#cttraffic--Report of a one car rollover at East Main Street (Route 110) and Marchant Drive. Driver is reported to be out of the car. Delays in the area.
Body found floating in Westport
Westport Ct- the Westport Police responded to a report from a duck hunter of a body floating in the mouth of the Saugatuck River. The hunter who was in a kayak stayed with the body until Detectives assisted by the Westport Fire Department launched a boat and responded to retrieve the body. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington CT and the incident is currently under investigation by the Westport Police Detective Bureau. Identification of the deceased will be pending notification of the family and more information will be forthcoming as it is developed.
I-95 Crash
12:36pm--#Westport CT--#cttraffic--I-95 southbound near exit 18 a crash that has traffic backed up.
Norwalk crash
3:29am--Norwalk CT--Report of a crash at Grist Mill Road and Route 7 intersection. State Police reporting an unresponsive female in the car.
Fairfield Crash
2:11am--#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Police are investigating a crash in front of 109 Kings Highway East near the Bridgeport line. It appears that the black Hyundai traveling south towards Bridgeport hit a parked car that in turn hit another parked car in the driveway. The Hyundai received heavy front end damage with airbag deployment but the driver did not seem to be seriously injured. The driver was transported by EMS to St. Vincent's Hospital.
Smoke inhalation
12:50am--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters on scene at 677 Sylvan Avenue for a call of smoke in the building. Turns out to be food burning on the stove with no extensions but the occupant has smoke inhalation from it. EMS on the way.
