DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Pedestrian hit

3:14pm--#Bridgeport CT--A pedestrian was hit by a car on Highland Avenue, mid block from Washington Avenue where a serious hit and run accident occurred last month.  Police said a person exited a community bus (no flashing lights to stop traffic) and crossed the street and was hit by a car that did stop.  The driver was charged with driving without a license and traveling too fast. The pedestrian was not reported to be injured.

Robbery in Fairfield like out of Hollywood!

10:38pm--#Fairfield CT--A robbery at Chipotle Mexican Grill at 340 Grasmere Avenue played out like scene out of Hollywood.  at 10:38pm an employee at the restaurant called police that she locked herself in the restroom in fear of hearing someone in the eatery when it should have been closed.  Police quickly responded it was other employees but then at 10:41 reported it was a robbery and the suspects ran towards the railroad tracks.  At 10:43pm police were in pursuit of a car with California plates at a high rate of speed (60mph) on Commerce Drive.  A minute later they reported the car flipped over in front of McDonald's at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Commerce Drive in Bridgeport.  Witnesses told…
