DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

10:30am--Bridgeport--Bridgeport Police, Fire and Marine Rescue responded to a overturned sailboat near St. Mary's by the Sea. The boater righted the sailboat and sailed to Fairfield Beach where Fairfield Marine checked them out, they were fine. Fairfield Police are trying to locate 86-year-old Fairfield man, Thomas Matif, who was last seen leaving the Ukrainian Club on the Post Road in Fairfield Wednesday night around 9:30pm. He is driving a four door 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass wand a Connecticut registration plate of 393 PRE. Police said Matif suffers from dementia and may have made a wrong turn on his way home. Police are looking for an older red pickup landscaping type truck CT plate #--3BJ 810 driven by a Hispanic male wearing a red tee shirt, sunglasses last seen getting on I-95 no direction given. Fairfield--Shortly after 11pm Sunday Night a boat owner who lives at 1172 Melville Avenue returned home from a day of boating and was backing his boat and trailer into his driveway when it was struck by a vehicle traveling on Melville Ave. The boat was knocked off the trailer and the striking vehicle had enough damage that it need to be towed from the scene. 4:44pm--#Fairfield--Police were called to Sasco Beach to investigate that a man was pleasuring himself in public in his green and white panel van. A 17 year old girl witnessed it and ran home to tell her mother who called police. He was described as a white balding male wearing sunglasses. 12:11pm--Bridgeport--Beardsley School at 500 Huntington Road. A third grader has a knife and corkscrew and is threatening two students. Police on the way. 7:00pm--Bridgeport--Police are looking for 6-8 black males who stabbed a blind man in the back at Bunnell and Stratford Ave. One male wore a red tee shirt, most were wearing black shirts, they were all wearing black hats. 2:14pm---#Bridgeport--Bridgeport are looking for two black males possibly “Blood” gang members involved in street fight at 587 Capital Ave. Last seen in a gray Chevy Impala , possibly with shotguns in the car.. Last seen headed west on Capitol Ave. 2:30am--Bridgeport--Vehicle fire fully involved at 74 Texas Avenue. Police are investigating a one car accident that occurred on Brooklawn Terrace in Fairfield around 1am on May 18th. According to witnesses the "stocky" driver was seen leaving the scene walking towards Brooklawn Avenue. Police apprehended the driver about an hour later.
