Illegal swimming in the cascades
1:22pm--#Fairfield CT--Despite no swimming signs posted police were called to the cascade area of Lake Mohegan in Fairfield this afternoon for three people swimming in the area. Two people, two years in a row have drowned in the lake. Last year was ten year old Catherine Perez Trujillo from Bridgeport and in 2011 it was 32 year old Frank Mazzabufi, of Shelton. Two Juveniles Arrested in Connection With Major Fire
Bridgeport Detectives arrested two juveniles Friday in connection with a fire that caused extensive damage to a Poplar Street home. The fire and police departments Wednesday responded to 181 Poplar St. On a report of a structure fire police encountered the front of the house fully engulfed inflames. The fire marshal's office and detective division responded because of the suspicious circumstances. Detectives Ken McKenna and Art Calvao responded to the scene and met with Fire Department Fire Inspector Richard Balestrieri. After numerous interviews spanning two days, two suspects were identified. On Friday, just after 5:30 p.m. Detectives McKenna and Calvao interviewed the juveniles in front of their parents.
