DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

“Man” Charged with Severe Child Abuse of 5-Year-Old

(Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 16, 2013) – A 22-year-old man faces first-degree assault and child endangerment charges for violently and repeatedly assaulting a 5-year-old relative. Detective Dave De Feo secured the arrest warrant for Daquon Gomillion on four counts of first-degree assault and four-counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was arrested Monday after arriving for a civil hearing relating to the custody of the victim. De Feo began the investigation on July 18 after DCF reported a child with extensive scarring over much of his body and other injuries. De Feo, who has training in investigating child abuse and neglect and worked for 10 years in the department’s Youth Bureau, said the injuries were consistent with being struck with an extension…
