DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Senior Fraud Bill

Connecticut’s state senate passed a bill aimed at helping to protect seniors from fraud (HB 6458). The legislation, which already received state house approval, will now head to the governor’s office for approval.  Creating a task force to study ways for protecting seniors from fraud is the bill's aim. The task force will review the planning services available to Medicaid applicants, according to the amended bill passed unanimously by the state House of Representatives. In response, Steven L. Bridgeport News: Overnight Incidents

2021-06-06 12:09am--Units responded to the 200 block of Washington Ave. on a possible robbery/serious assault call. AMR was giving medical attention to an unconscious male, bleeding from his head with a closed swollen eye. The man was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital. Detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS.. CFS # 45599 (0156 hours) St. V’s ER. 1:56am--A stabbing victim was brought into St. Vincent's Emergency Room. The stabbing occurred at an unknown address on Wordin Ave. The detectives were on scene speaking with victim. The victim sustained non-life threatening lacerations to his face, neck and shoulder.
