Bridgeport Firefighters were called to a brush fire on Exeter Street near Chopsey Hill Road. Finding the fire close to a house they quickly called in additional resources as well as mutual aid from surrounding towns. Report that a person was shot with a gun on Ash Street in Bridgeport. There are no further details at this time.
Report of a car that struck the Citizen's Bank, and then caught fire at 123 Cherry Street in Milford. Firefighters were able to quickly move the car away from the building and extinguish the fire on the car.
Report of a fire on Washington Terrace near Park Ave. Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and knocked down an internal fire.
While responding to an emergency call at Santa Fuel, Engine 1 was involved in a MVA at the corner of Myrtle and South Ave. No injuries to members of the Fire Department. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating this incident.
Fairfield firefighters were called to Beechwood Lane for a garage fire. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from the roof vents and immediately called for additional resources. The homeowner told firefighters she heard a bang and, upon opening the garage door, saw fire and smoke. Fortunately, she remembered her child's fire safety lessons from school and quickly shut the door between the residence and the garage, helping to contain the fire.
