Bridgeport News: Two Burned In Structure Fire

1:26am--#Bridgeport CT--  Just before 1:30 Sunday morning fire broke out at 335 Seltsam Road. A sea of flames could be seen from Route 8/25 connector when firefighters first arrived. The homeowner told me he and his family were sound asleep when he heard the smoke detectors going off. Neighbors told me that they pulled an elderly woman out of the back of the house, they said she was badly burned. Radio reports said a second resident was burned in the fire. There are two dogs in the home which could not be found at this time.  The fire was so bad that firefighters initially used an exterior attack until they had the fire under control about an hour later.  This…

Bridgeport News: Jewish Center Receives Hate Fliers

3:15pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport police were called to the Jewish Community Center at 4200 Park Avenue after receiving hate fliers.  Radio reports said they have the incident on video.  I spoke with Tom Lamb of the Jewish Center to find out what was said in the flier and if there were any credible threats made in the fliers.  Lamb said is not authorized to speak about the situation.  He said only the CEO can comment.  Tom took my contact information for the CEO to call.  A parked Bridgeport Police car can be seen in the photo who came to investigate. but I have not heard back.

Bridgeport News: Man Dies From Injuries In Tractor Trailer Crash

7:22pm--7/15/2017-- On Saturday evening at 7:22pm firefighters, police and EMS were dispatched to a motorist colliding with a semi-trailer.  Trarryl Brown of 69 Kingsbury Road of Bridgeport was operating a 1989 Toyota Corolla wagon north on Newfield Avenue (Interstate 95 underpass) where he collided with a parked semi-trailer.  The Corolla was wedged under the rear of the trailer. Mr. Brown was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The family was notified and present at the hospital.   Bridgeport Police's Serious Crash Team is investigating the fatal collision.  If anyone witnessed the collision and/or has information leading up to the collision please call the Bridgeport Traffic Division at 203-576-7640.  All information is confidential. Bridgeport News: K-9 Locates Special Needs Child

#Bridgeport CT-- On Sunday, July 9th around 9pm Bridgeport Police Department were dispatched to a family home on Catherine Street when a mother of a 9-year-old special needs boy realized her son had walked out the back door and she could not locate him.   At 9:24pm Zeus and Officer Ryan Mullenax began the track using an article of clothing provided by the mother.  The track went from Catherine Street down Harral Avenue into Nanny Goat Park then back along George Street where the child was located.   Police Chief Armando Perez said "This child would not have been found if not for the efforts of K-9 Officer Mullenax and K9 Zeus.    This is an example of the great…
