Bridgeport Public School Students Show Significant Improvement In National Test Scores

2016 Results show Overall Improvement of 11% for Mathematics, 8% Improvement in Oral Reading Comprehension Across all Grade Levels   #Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim and Bridgeport School Superintendent Fran Rabinowitz today released National AIMSweb test results for Bridgeport public school students that show significant improvement over scores from one year ago.  The AIMSweb online exam evaluates student capabilities in the areas of: early literacy and numeracy measures, oral reading comprehension, math computation, and math concepts and applications. Stratford – Bridgeport News: Gunshot Victim

‪#‎Stratford‬ Connecticut- On 07-25- 2016 at approximately 10pm there was a shooting incident on Burritt Avenue in Stratford. During the incident which involved two SUV’s an unidentified black male exited one vehicle and fired approximately two rounds at the other vehicle. The victim vehicle struck a parked car prior to all involved parties fleeing the scene. Investigators interviewed a person of interest at Bridgeport Hospital but that person was uncooperative and would not speak with officers. At this time the incident is still under investigation. Stratford News: Violation Of Protection Order

Ronald Bansak was arrested in June of 2016 for Risk of Injury to Children, Assault 2nd degree, Disorderly Conduct, Unlawful Restraint, and Interfering with an Emergency 911 Call. Bansak was given an Order of Protection to not have contact with the victim of that incident. Bansak was also ordered to have no contact with others in the victim’s life. In July of 2016, Bansak proceeded to send several text messages to family members of the victim. A warrant was completed for Bansak’s arrest for Criminal Violation of Protective Order.
