4:52pm--Bridgeport CT--Police on scene investigating shots fired in the 500 block of Arctic Street. No reports of anyone or anything being hit.  Turns out to be a car backfiring. Bridgeport News: Man Assaulted with Can Opener

UPDATE on what we reported live as it happened: #Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 29, 2014 – Detectives are investigating an assault in which a man was injured with what he described as a can opener. The victim, 37, told Officer Juan Gonzalez that he was walking in the area of Livingston Street and East Main Street when he encountered a group of youths. One of the youths made a comment about the victim’s sneakers. The victim stated that he made his own comment back. At that point, the youth attacked the victim with what was described as a can opener. The victim stated that he disarmed the suspect of said can opener and walked home. He subsequent went to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. The injuries…
