Stratford News: Fire at Savoy Linen

9:40pm--#Stratford CT--Firefighters responded to an activated fire alarm at Savoy Linen at 895 Woodend Road.  When they arrived the found heavy smoke on the second floor and receiving dock.  Additional firefighters were called to the scene and Bridgeport Firefighters provided mutual aid by manning the empty firehouses in Stratford.  Firefighters had the fire out within the hour. Police Pursuit-Suspect Wanted For Home Invasion

11:22pm--#cttraffic--A police pursuit starting on Stratford Avenue in found its way to I-95 southbound ended in Norwalk after the driver, a woman hit the stop sticks at exit 18 set up by the state police.  The car was wanted in an earlier home invasion on Deacon Street in Bridgeport.  Radio reports say the driver entered the left lane at the construction zone just before exit 18.  At exit 18 the driver hit the state police stop sticks and a short time later hit the center barrier.  Speeds slowed to slower than 40 mph after hitting the stop sticks and came to a crawl near exit 15 where the driver exited the highway onto Route 7 and then onto East Avenue.…

UPDATE: Pedro Bruno, arrested in Fairfield for burglary January 7th was wanted for a string of burglaries in Stratford.  Only DoingItLocal.com was on the scene when Fairfield Police arrested him. 3:50pm--#Fairfield CT--Police received a 911 call from a girl on Warwick Avenue that she had locked herself in the bathroom and that her father was downstairs yelling to her to call 911.  Police was very quickly on scene and apprehended one suspect.  Other officer arriving found jewelry and wallets tossed into a yard around the corner at Jackman and Bennett Street.   The suspect did not speak English and a translator from the Connecticut State Police were called to the scene.  According to radio reports the homeowner positively identified the…
