#Stratford CT--This month the prescription drug box at Stratford Police Headquarters reached the one-ton mark in collection of unwanted and unused medications. The drug box was installed in the police department lobby in October 2013. It was a collaborative effort amongst several Town departments, including the Stratford Police, Health, and Community Services Departments with the support of the Office of Mayor John Harkins. “When you consider the fact that most prescription bottles weigh just a few ounces even when filled, to reach the one-ton mark in a relatively short period of time is remarkable”, said Stratford Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour. “We thank the citizens for taking advantage of this service.
