New Pedestrian Laws

Currently, a driver must yield to a pedestrian, slowing or stopping as necessary, if the pedestrian has stepped off the curb or into the crosswalk. Under the new law, a driver must slow or stop as necessary if the pedestrian (1) is within any portion of the crosswalk; (2) steps to the curb at a crosswalk’s entrance and indicates intent to cross by raising a hand or arm to oncoming traffic; or (3) indicates intent to cross by moving any body part or extension of a body part into the crosswalk entrance, including a wheelchair, cane, walking stick, crutch, bicycle, electric bicycle, stroller, carriage, cart, or leashed or harnessed dog. “This new pedestrian safety law is an important step to…

Fairfield News: Wild Yutes

#Fairfield CT-- 2021-09-03@9:15PM-- Police were called to the 1400 block of South Pine Road after an intoxicated teen required medical assistance. On arrival it was determined a group of juveniles had been drinking in the home without the parents knowledge. One child was transported to the hospital and the others turned over to their parents. 2021-09-04@10:15pm-- A vehicle crashed into trees/bushes on Old Dam Road. Witnesses told police that two males initially fled the scene but then returned. A juvenile had taken the vehicle without permission and was charged accordingly and turned over to a parent. Stratford News: Latin Music Festival

STRATFORD – The Town of Stratford and the Stratford Hispanic Heritage Committee announce the 16th annual Latin Music Festival, sponsored by Paradise Pizza. The popular event is scheduled for Sunday, September 12th from 12pm to 6pm, with a rain date of September 19th. The event will take place on Paradise Green.   This celebration of Latin culture will showcase performances by notable Latin bands and professional folkloric dance groups.
