Man Charged in Weekend Attack
(Bridgeport, CT – July 31, 2013) – A 28-year-old man faces charges in connection with an incident in which he beat a man he knew over a dispute. Travis Williams, of Hewitt Street, faces charges of home invasion, second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and third-degree robbery. On Tuesday, Officers Anthony Caiazzo and Keith Hanson spoke to a concerned citizen who had information about an assault that happened over the weekend on Noble Avenue. Based on what they learned and a description provided, police went to Noble Avenue looking for the suspect, identified as Williams. They were told he had just walked to a nearby store. Bridgeport Police Arrest Homicide Suspect
(Bridgeport, CT -- July 30, 2013) -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a July 17 homicide in the city's East End. Dennis Salmond, who is known as Sleep, was arrested in the 1900 block of North Avenue early today in connection with the fatal shooting of Kiaunte Ware, 32, of Sixth Street. Ware was shot multiple times as he sat in his rented Hyundai at about 7:30 a.m. A murder warrant with a $1 million bond was secured last week, and police have been looking for him since.
