Westport News: Undocumented Pharmacist Arrested

In August of this year, the Westport Police Department received two separate anonymous tips that narcotics were being sold out of a Saugatuck Avenue residence by a male known as Josiah or “JoJo”. The Westport Detective Bureau initiated an investigation and conducted surveillance on the residence. The suspect was identified as Josiah Alicea, 18, of that address. On three separate occasions, persons leaving the residence were found to be in possession of marijuana. On September 15, 2017, a search warrant was executed on the home. Upon arrival, officers found Alicea smoking marijuana in the presence of two juveniles. Detectives seized marijuana, scales, packaging materials, two BB guns and $1246 in cash. I-95 Crash With Ejection

UPDATE: State Police accident report said that Jose Cupertino Lopez-Siquiej of Bridgeport was driving his 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup in the center lane when he attempted to change to the right lane striking a Freightliner truck.  He lost control of the pickup truck and rolled the pickup before striking a concrete barrier and rolled back upright.  The report said Jose was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.  He was transported to the hospital.   The driver of the  Freightliner truck was identified as Jeffrey Ramey, 50, of Elkton, Maryland and he was not injured.   10:35pm--#Bridgeport CT--#cttraffic-- Prayers are needed for an accident on I-95 southbound near exit 27A with someone being ejected from the vehicle according to radio…

(Westport, CT) On Thursday, September 7 th , the Westport Police Department received its official Tier 1 Accredited Status from Connecticut P.O.S.T.C (Police Officers Standards and Training Council). The official award of accreditation follows the department’s multiyear effort to voluntarily self-evaluate its policies and procedures and compare them to best practices and standards as outlined by P.O.S.T.C.
