Bridgeport News: Bank Robbery
3:00pm--#Bridgeport CT-- As I was the first to report, at about 3 pm there was a bank robbery at Chase bank on Boston Ave. 123 Boston Ave. Female passed a note to the teller. White female in her 20's thin, wearing a white t-shirt, black yoga pants, and a baseball cap. No one injured. The robber made off with $500 cash and no weapon was displayed.
New Ladder Truck For Fairfield Fire
Fairfield Fire Department is unveiling a new fire truck at Station 2 on Jennings Road. The new truck, a 2017 Spartan/Marion, to be exact, comes with the "latest and greatest" features, says Lieutenant Kevin Polcer. The new Engine 2 contains numerous safety features, such as "full frontal airbags...and side protection", which comes with most modern vehicles. The new engine also has "anti-lock breaks on all four wheels". The new engine comes equipped with all LED lighting, a 1,500-gallon water tank, and a 75-gallon foam tank in order to make "foam on the fly". The Marion is also eco-friendly, taking diesel exhaust fluid, or D.E.F., so "the emissions from this truck are a lot less than a truck 10 years ago".…
Fatal Crash After Police Pursuit
UPDATE: Police say the Jervon Winston, 22, of Brooklyn, New York was the driver of the car who died in this accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Police confirmed our report that he did not negotiate the curve of the ramp, and went straight down an embankment into a tree. UPDATE: A state police accident summary said the 2015 Chrysler 200 involved in the crash is owned by Ari Rent a Car in Linden, N.J. The driver has not been identified.
