Package Thief Turns Himself In

On 01/15/16, Sidney Nelson turned himself in on an active warrant held by the Westport Police for the charges listed above. Nelson was employed by a construction company doing work in Westport in December, 2015. While working in town, Nelson’s vehicle was recorded from home surveillance in the driveway of a residence that packages were taken from. Westport Detectives were able to track down Nelson and interview him regarding the video. Nelson confessed to the theft of packages and further admitted to multiple other package thefts in Westport and Fairfield. Nelson was charged with Larceny 5th degree as the total of the items stolen in Westport was $810.00.
