12:22am--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters remained busy this evening, this time a basement fire at 530 Wayne Street. When firefighters arrived the found the homeowner trying to put the fire out with a garden hose. Firefighters finished the job.
11:5opm--#cttraffic--#Trumbull CT-- A police pursuit starting in Trumbull into Bridgeport for a BMW that got onto I-95 northbound and engaged state police in pursuit of speeds in excess when they broke the chase off. He was seen getting off exit 42 without police pursuit but the BMW wound up crashing into a fence off the exit. They fled on foot, police are looking for a black male driver and a white male passenger.
8:54pm--#Shelton CT--There is a very large water main break on Progress Drive at Corporate Park. The water suppression systems are down at the park according to radio reports. This report was made possible by:
8:06pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man was shot in the chest and police helped keep the man stable until EMS arrived at 21 Maplewood Avenue. Radio reports say the man was in and out of consciousness. A man jumped out of a gold colored car and shot the victim and then fled on foot down Maplewood Avenue in backyards. The area around Pequonnick and Maplewood is closed indefinitely according to radio reports.
7:31pm--#Fairfield CT--A woman passed out as she went through the intersection at Kings Highway and Grasmere Avenue. The woman was unconscious when police arrived and they rescued her by smashing a window. She was revived by EMS and transported to St. Vincent's Hospital.
5:33pm--#Bridgeport CT--Bridgeport Police on patrol located a house fire at 258 Bradley Street and was able to rescue the residents inside before firefighters arrived. The firefighters found heavy fire on the first and second floor when they arrived. The confirmed that there was nobody inside the building and then had further complications with the fire being close to the other buildings next door. If that wasn't enough power lines were arching and sparking close by. They were able to get the upper hand of the fire within an hour. There were reported collapses of the floor on the second floor. There were no reported injuries.
1:50pm--#Stratford CT-- Firefighters respond to a report of a fire in a microwave oven on Mill Pond Road where a 9 year old and 12 year old are home alone. This report is made possible by:
12:12pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Today's car fire is at Price Rite at 1245 Main Street. Firefighters report the car is fully engulfed in flames. This seems to be a "hot spot" for car fires it seems! This report was made possible by:
