10:11pm--#Westport Connecticut--Firefighters were called to a commercial fire at 38 Post Road East which houses HSBC Bank and Starbucks. Witnesses said the flames were shooting from the left side of the roof. Firefighters quick response kept the fire from spreading. They are checking to see if the fire extended inside into any of the businesses.
8:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to 65 Goodsell Street for a fire in an abandoned, boarded up house. There was fire on the right side of the house with fire on the first and second floor. The windows and doors were boarded up which delayed their entry into the building. Once entry was gained the fire was quickly put out. The fire marshal was called to the scene. There were no reported injuries.

3:20pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Firefighters were called to a garage fire at 76 Evers Street for a garage fire. Radio traffic said it was rags on fire. A short time later they reported a water main break on Huntington Turnpike. This report is made possible by:
2:20pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Another crash at Lafayette Boulvevard and State Street AGAIN. Firefighter had to extricate one persons from the car on its roof. Lots of glitter and containers of glitter on the street, it was not certain if Richard Simmons was involved.
#Bridgeport, Connecticut – Mayor Joe Ganim today submitted to the Bridgeport City Council an ordinance that, if approved, would enact historic reforms for Bridgeport that include the establishment of the first-of-its-kind office of government accountability within city hall. The office would serve as a clearing house for complaints related to government performance, including response to constituent inquiries, waste, inefficiency and potential misconduct. The office would review complaints and make a determination as to whether the issue warrants further investigation or should be referred to another office in city government for action. The proposed office would also consolidate all Freedom of Information requests and manage timely responses to those requests. HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy applauded the unanimous, bipartisan approval in the General Assembly’s Public Safety and Security Committee of legislation he introduced that strengthens the blood alcohol limits for carrying a firearm as well as for hunting while under the influence. Under current state laws, the blood alcohol limit for both offenses is 0.1. However, the limits for drunk driving and drunk boating are 0.08. Governor Malloy’s proposal conforms all of these laws to 0.08. “If you are too drunk to drive, you are too drunk to carry a firearm – plain and simple. Our laws should reflect that. The unanimous, bipartisan support of the Public Safety Committee shows that this proposal just makes sense. …
