The Westport Emergency Management Team with Westport Board of Education Staff took part in an exercise to simulate a severe weather event effecting a school. Under the direction of Fire Chief Kingsbury, the Emergency Management Director for the Town of Westport, the Emergency Operations Center was staffed and exercised a plan to deal with a severe weather event. The exercise concluded with a conference call with the Governor at the State Emergency Operations Center in Hartford. Chief Kingsbury would like to remind everyone to have a disaster supply kit and an emergency plan for the home. Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Police Department released the identity of the victim of Sunday night’s stabbing related homicide. The victim has been identified as Jayson Rosado (DOB 09/28/87). On October 18 at 11:05 p.m., police officers responded to calls regarding an assault with a firearm on Goldenrod Ave. near the corner of Madison Ave. Upon arrival at the scene, police officers found a 28-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest, side, and stomach. The victim was immediately transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance. Regarding the incident that resulted in the victim being stabbed, witnesses report that four masked men -- some displaying a firearm -- entered the victim’s home. 11:37pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A Louisiana Avenue mom home alone with her child heard an attempted break in downstairs and called police. Police are looking for a light skinned black male, about six foot three, clean shaven who made entry and fled. This report is made possible by:

6:49pm--#Fairfield CT--Fairfield remains the big news town today. This time for a hit and run in the parking lot of CVS at Black Rock and Jennings Road. A dark colored pick up truck struck the car that has a 9 month old baby inside the fled the scene. A witness got a plate number that matched the truck and it sounds like they got em! EMS was arriving when I left the scene.
4:49pm--#Fairfield CT-- A bicyclist has been struck by a car in front of the condos at 1899 Stratfield Road according to radio reports. It did appear that a car stopped and a woman was seen talking to police officers. The officers were to busy with the scene to verify and the shift commander is tied up with the media on the train incident earlier. The biker, a girl was conscious when she was put in the ambulance.
Metro North Railroad is reporting: The New Haven Line continued scattered residual delays of up to 30 mins due to earlier police activity near. Southport. UPDATE: Fairfield Police told me that it was a woman who attempted to jump in front of a southbound train but the train was able to stop in time. She then was struck by a northbound Amtrak train headed to Boston. Metro North has taken over the investigation. 1:57pm--#Metronorth--#Southport CT--A pedestrian has been struck and killed while on the tracks at the Southport Train Station. Currently on track one is operational.
