Man Who Stated He Was High on PCP Found With Crack Cocaine

#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 9, 2013 – A city man faces narcotics charges after being questioned by policeSunday. Officers Jonathan Duharte and Phillip Norris observed the suspect in the area of Washington Terrace and Washington Avenue, an area know for narcotics sales and prostitution. The suspect, later identified as Eugene Brown, 29, of Bridgeport, appeared to be disoriented and continued to reach into his coat pocket while looking from side to side. That behavior, in addition to the fact that Brown told police that he was under the influence of PCP, prompted further investigation. Motor Vehicle Stop Nets Cocaine, Two Arrests

#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 9, 2013 – A motor-vehicle stop led to two arrests and the seizure of cocaine.  On Saturday, Officers Anthony Caiazzo and Keith Hanson pulled over a vehicle in the area of Boston Avenue and Sheridan Street. The driver of the vehicle couldn’t provide a valid insurance card or valid registration but did provide a valid Connecticut pistol permit. He told police he was in possession of a weapon. The driver, Pedro Lopez, 34, of Bridgeport, was removed from the car. While patting him down, police recovered from his pants pocket a baggie containing what appeared to be cocaine. Two Men Arrested for Robbery, Victims Have Money Returned

#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 9, 2013 – Two men face robbery charges after a street hold-up Friday evening.  Officer John Topolski responded to the 1300 block of Boston Avenue on a report of an armed robbery on Sheridan Street. The two victims stated that they had left a check cashing business when they were robbed by armed men of more than $700 and a cell phone. Dispatchers put out a description of the suspects over the police radio. Meanwhile, Officers Angel Rodriguez and Juan Hernandez observed two males matching that description in a rear yard in the 600 block of Maple Street. The men fled when police ordered them to stop. Monday--5:27pm–#Monroe Ct--One day after a fire killed a Monroe man in his Osborn Lane home, another Monroe family has lost their home to fire. But this time everyone made it out safely.  The fire erupted shortly before 5pm Monday at 15 High Meadow Rd. The owner reported seeing smoke in the basement and when firefighters arrived at the ranch-style home, they encountered heavy smoke and fire. Firefighters were pulled out of the building to fight the fire defensively once part of the dining room floor collapsed into the basement. A volunteer firefighter narrowly escaped serious injuries by pulling himself out of the hole and exiting through a nearby sliding glass door.
