Companies help fire victims–Video Report

#Bridgeport CT--Families that lost everything  from the devastating fire that took out three multi-family homes on Putnam Street in September received help from two local companies .  John Cotter from Nutmeg Adjusters was on scene with SERVPRO the morning of the fire and said they had to do something to help these families.  So he contacted the president of SERVPRO of Stamford/Bridgeport Joseph Pelli  and said we need to do something.  Joseph Pelli told us that had they had a lot of unclaimed household goods because the insurance companies paid out for the loss.   "Since we have taken the furniture, clean and disinfected and recycled it back to the community" said Pelli.  SERVPRO had the families mark what they…

Man Charged with Weapons Violations

#Bridgeport, CT – Oct. 15, 2013-– Police responding to a noise complaint arrested a man with a gun Saturday. Officers Mathew Szymczak and Michael Davila arrived at the location at Orchard and Pearl streets and encountered five people sitting on the steps. As police approached, one of the males stood up and faced the house. When he did, a gun fell onto the concrete steps. The suspect, later identified as William Kelly Jr. 26, of Kingsbury Road, then attempted to get into the house and, unsuccessful, fled on foot. Szymczak gave chase and Davila detained the other four individuals and seized the gun. Szymczak radioed the suspect’s location as other officers converged.
