Firearm recovered after foot pursuit
7:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--A brief foot pursuit with police on Cottage Street. It wasn't clear what the person was wanted for but he was tased and a firearm was recovered.
Kidnapping scare was attempted scam
6:06pm--#Fairfield CT-- A Greenfield Street resident received a call that her son was kidnapped and "he would not be released until the gave them money". Police and the detective bureau investigated and after a brief search found the son safe and sound. The phone call originated from Puerto Rico. This same scam happened last year to a Housatonic University student, police locked down a portion of downtown to find it too was a scam. If you receive a call from area code 945 there is no area code in the United States and if you Google the area code it is host to a number of scams so be ware of that area code!
Dismembered goat found on beach
Fairfield police and animal control are looking for help identifying an animal found dismembered on Jennings Beach on March 31. A jogger made the grisly discovery. Fairfield Sun has the full story here......
North Korea approves nuclear strike on United States
SEOUL — North Korea dramatically escalated its warlike rhetoric on Thursday, warning that it had authorised plans for nuclear strikes on targets in the United States. There was no immediate American reaction to the North's latest statement, but US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Pyongyang represented a "real and clear danger" to the United States and to its allies South Korea and Japan.
