[caption id="attachment_3668" align="alignleft" width="614" caption="Another abandonded home fire in Bridgeport"][/caption] At around 12:30am Tuesday morning, an alert Bridgeport Police Officer on patrol saw smoke coming from 314 Soundview Avenue and sounded the alarm. Firefighters quickly arrived to a smokey boarded up home. There was a fire in the basement that extended into the first floor. They quickly went to work battling the fire. At 12:42 they were still attacking the flames that now threatened the first floor. By 12:50 the bulk of the fire was knocked down and they were checking for hot spots. At approximately 2pm firefighters responded to structure fire at 8 Madison Terrace. Being a terrace and not a street present some challenges getting trucks close to the structure and not being able to have access with a ladder truck. Firefighters made quick entry getting fire lines into the vacant building and quickly knocked down the fire. There were no injuries combating the blaze.
DAYTONA BEACH, FL --A baby sitter is in trouble after police say she put a baby in the back of a pick-up truck. Several drivers called 911 after seeing the stroller in the bed of the truck. The babysitter, Keyona Davis, explained to the court she's been baby-sitting without incident since she was a teen, didn't realize police would consider this, endangering a child. "It's not like they give you a hand book or anything on how, what's neglect and what's not neglect, " Davis said. Davis's public defender argued that a charge of felony neglect was too harsh saying the baby wasn't hurt, but the state and the judge saw this video as very disturbing, the charge stands though…
A two car accident around 11pm completed the trifecta of car crashes that kept police busy Friday night. This one occured at Stratfield and Fairfield Woods Road intersection. The Honda Pilot flipped three times according to witnesses and that driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The driver and passengers of the other car refused medical treatment.
