The Affordable Housing Committee is expected to complete work on an update to the Town’s Affordable Housing Plan by early next year. FAIRFIELD – For the next few weeks, the Town of Fairfield will be conducting a community survey about housing needs in Fairfield and possible housing strategies for the future. The Town is updating its 2014 Housing Plan and 2016 Plan of Conservation and Development - both of which look at the current and anticipated future housing needs in Fairfield. The truck driver was smart and detached the tractor and got it out of harms way. The smoke is causing a traffic hazard. Firefighters have the fire extinguished.

#Bridgeport CT-- The Bridgeport ECC received a ShotSpotter activation at approximately 17:49 hours (5:49pm) in the 1000th block of Pembroke St. BPD Units were sent to the scene to investigate and discovered shell casings and two vehicles that were struck by gunfire. At 17:57 hours, Bridgeport hospital called into ECC to notify of a victim that was transported by private vehicle that just arrived at this hospital. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. The area is being secured by the units on scene. That is all the information that is available at this time. On May 16, 2021, at approximately 1:56 a.m. Bridgeport Police responded to 1023 Main Street (Temple of the Way - House of Worship) on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival patrol officers located 38-year-old Charles Dimples Barnes shot to death in the basement of this location. Patrol officers also located 40-year-old Norman Charles Peters on the basement floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Peters was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he later died from those injuries. An investigation into the illegal operation of an after-hours club at 1023 Main Street was conducted by the Bridgeport Police Department Narcotics and Vice Division.
