12:03pm–#Fairfield CT #ctfire–Report of a stove fire 35 Charles Street. Firefighters on the way.
2:19am–#Fairfield CT–Firefighters called to a flooding condition at Ludlowe Health Care at 118 Jefferson St . Reports of the basement flooding and starting to cover the furnace. They better call our new sponsor Servpro, they will make it “Like it never even happened!” Chris is the Sales and Marketing Manager 203-981-0402. Another ladder truck added to the assignment.
Just as the 11pm news was coming on the TV a call for a large fire at the corner Park Avenue and Worth Street glared from the scanner. Fire department had multiple calls coming in. As I sped off to the scene Greg Simeon was springing into action too as he noticed the flames on the third floor. He rushed to the house and began banging on doors alerting sleeping residents of the fire and helping them escape. The hardest for Greg was seeing a mother with her infant child across the room filled with acrid smoke. Greg helped everyone get out. Shortly after the blaze and interview with Greg a call came out over the Bridgeport Police radio of a person shot in the back of 127 Linen Avenue, a few blocks away. Police immediately began investigating if the two calls are connected and by 2:40am had secured a warrant for the home on Park and Worth Street for their investigation. At 2:47am at the time of this report police have begun investigation and the Red Cross remains on scene to help relocate the tenants. We will keep you posted on DoingItLocal.com with updates.
9:05pm–#Bridgeport CT–Report of a child hit by car at 698 Capitol Avenue (near Main and Madison Ave). No details at this time.
7:46pm–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters are out with car that crashed into a wall at Central Avenue and Eagle Street with entrapment. Firefighters going to work.
7:13pm–#Fairfield CT #ctfire–A kitchen fire at 651 Tunxis Hill Road. Burning food on the stove has now extended into the duct work. The homeowner is evacuating the home with their pets. They are going to need our sponsors! Fire Engine Pizza for dinner, Marsillio’s for a new stove and Servpro for smoke damage!
6:53pm–#Trumbull CT–Firefighters on the way to 81 Ironwood Road for a home that smells of smoke. UPDATE—Turns out to be a flower pot outside burning and the smoke was getting inside the house and garage.
#Fairfield CT #Stratford CT–Police investigated a hit and run accident in Fairfield on Kings Highway near Brentwood Ave. The car was later located at Paisley Lane. Police are on the scene of an accident at Birdseye Street near Main Street with possible injuries.
3:36pm–#Bridgeport CT–The assistant principal at Roosevelt School at 160 Iranistan Avenue was assaulted by a student today. EMS treated her for minor redness on the cheek and forehead. Police are investigating.
