Fairfield, CT – On March 2, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM, Fairfield Police responded to News Express, located at 200 Tunxis Hill Road, for a report of an armed robbery in progress. During the incident, a masked individual entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the store employee. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported during the incident and the Fairfield Detective Bureau responded immediately to process the scene. The store was open at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. 4:49pm--#Fairfield CT--Multiple police were dispatched to the Game Stop on Black Rock Turnpike for a man with a gun.  As police were on the way it was thought to be a toy gun according to the caller.  Police taking no chances approached the scene with caution with assault weapons at the ready.  Police confirmed it was a man in costume for the the promotional release of the video game Call of Duty -Ghost.  The man hired by the store for the promotion remained on scene, too shaken to talk to us.  The manager asked me to leave the store offering no insight to the thinking on this promotion.
