A detached garage at 319 East Main Street was badly damaged by fire shortly after 6:30 Friday evening. The garage was fully involved and had threatened the building to the left of it but firefighters quickly put out the blaze. Assistant Fire Chief Richard Thode told us that initially they were told there was a homeless man living in there. They gained entry to find the garage empty of any occupants. “There was a lot of rubbish in the building so there was a lot to burn ” said Thode. The fire marshal was called to the scene and will investigate the cause of the fire.
