It is with heavy heart that we learned the passing of Joseph Fitzpatrick, a 23 year veteran of the Waterbury Fire Department and owner at Fire Tech Consultants.  Joe was a constant contributor on Facebook on all things important to firefighters.

Joe’s Obituary in the Waterbury Republican reads: “WATERBURY — Joseph William Fitzpatrick, 60, of 557 Washington Ave., died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Saint Marys Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Kathleen (Walsh) Fitzpatrick.

Joseph was born in Waterbury Feb. 4, 1952, son of Irene (Krolitski) FitzPatrick of Waterbury and the late Joseph William FitzPatrick Sr. He last worked as an insurance inspector. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and had a strong interest in politics.

In addition to his wife, and his mother, he leaves his daughter, Colleen FitzPatrick of Waterbury.

Arrangements: Funeral will leave the Kelly-Brennan Funeral Home, 768 Baldwin St., Thursday at 9 a.m. for Basilica of Immaculate Conception for Mass at 10. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. ”
