#Bridgeport CT–#ctfire—Just after 8:30 fire broke out in an apartment above Taco Loco located at 3170 Fairfield Ave. Wednesday night.  Police were quick on the scene confirming smoke and flames on the 2nd floor and began evacuating the building.  Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the back 2nd floor window and went to work battling the blaze.

The apartment is located above the kitchen, it is not certain where the fire originated, the fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate. The health inspector was also called to the scene.  The restaurant cannot reopen without the health inspectors approval.

I spoke with owner Miguel and he was delighted at the fire department’s quick response and happy that everyone got out safely.  While on the phone
the fire chief was asking if the Red Cross should be dispatched to relocate the tenants but Miguel declined saying he will take care of them.
