(Bridgeport, CT – May 8, 2013) – Two convicted felons face weapons charges after police recovered a police-style baton and a handgun in their vehicle.

Sergio Paul, 20, of Trumbull and Jawora McBean, 24, of Stamford, were pulled over for a motor vehicle violation by Officers Donald Matejek and Thomas Flaherty Tuesday in the area of Pine Street. Paul didn’t have a license. McBean continually kept reaching into his pockets, despite instructions not to. Then police noticed an expandable baton on the front seat.

Both man were removed from the vehicle and, as police prepared it to be towed, found a .22 caliber loaded handgun. Police also recovered narcotics.

The men were charged with two counts of weapon in a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and narcotics violations.
