On Sunday at 4 a.m., Officer James Ivanko was assigned to monitor closing time at the L & A Social Club at 1506 Stratford Ave. The location has been the site of numerous acts of violence and neighborhood complaints.

Ivanko saw the suspect, David Thompson,  28, walk down a common driveway on private property, followed him and told him he was under arrest for disorderly conduct.

After his arrest, hidden in Thompson’s underwear, police also found six plastic bags containing marijuana. They also found an unopened bottle of Hennessy cognac in his pocket.

Thompson was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

The cognac was turned over to the property room for safe keeping.
