#Bridgeport, CT – An 8-year-old boy walking with his sister was injured when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle at Madison and Lincoln avenues.

The boy suffered a leg injury and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, said Officer John Perry, a traffic unit investigator who is handling the case.

The two children were crossing at the intersection when the boy was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue. The girl was not injured. The accident happened at about 4 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation, and no charges had been filed. The boy’s injuries are not life threatening.
