Bridgeport, Conn. (June 12, 2015) – This morning the Bridgeport Police arrested Billy Ray Jones (aka BJ) (DOB 05/28/1983) in connection with the June 21, 2010 homicide of Michael Williams, (DOB 08/22/1980). He was shot in the playground area behind Building 4, Greene Homes.

“I would like to thank the tireless effort of the Bridgeport Police Department and especially Detective Heitor Teixeira to bring this person to justice,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr. “I’m grateful for their hard work and grateful that our department could provide justice for the victim and his family.”

Jones was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying pistol without permit. The suspect, who is currently incarcerated, was brought to court where the warrant was served. Bond was set at $1,000,000.

“I’m proud of the work our police officers and detectives do every day with the community to keep our kids and families safe,” said Mayor Bill Finch.
