#Westport CT–On Tuesday, June 26, 2015 the Westport Police Department swore in a new police officer. The ceremony took place Westport Town Hall at 12:00 P.M. The hiring of the officer fills vacancies created by the retirement since May 2015 and brings the department to full strength.

The following individual was sworn in as Westport Police Officer: David Perez Age 41 is the Westport Police Departments newest member. Prior to his hiring by the Westport Police Department, Mr. Perez was a police officer

with the West Haven Police Department from November 1999 thru January 2014 he was assigned to the Patrol Division, Street Crimes Unit and Detective Bureau during his tenure. Mr. Perez left West Haven in order to take a position with the Nashville Metro Police Department in Nashville Tennessee in January 2014 and remained employed with that agency until being selected by the Westport Police Department and deciding to return to westport officer sworn inConnecticut.
