(Westport, CT) October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On Tuesday, October 13, 2015 members of the Westport Police Department, Westport Domestic Violence Task Force and the Y’s Men joined forces to raise awareness for domestic violence. They greeted commuters during the morning hours and provided literature from the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) of Norwalk, which provides domestic violence services to our area. Commuters were asked to take a look at the information when they had time or to pass it along to someone in need of help. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence seeking assistance, the DVCC is a great resource and can be reached via the 24 hour toll-free hotline 1-888-774-2900.
