Bryce LaisterStratford pd rolloverOn 11-05-2015 Officers responded to the area of Boston Avenue and St. Michaels Avenue to investigate a complaint of erratic operation. Dispatch received a complaint of a grey car striking a parked vehicle and possibly a telephone pole and leaving the scene. Officers saw the vehicle driving erratically and attempted to stop the car. The operator attempted to flee but had blown out tire on the front right. The car swerved on Surf Avenue into the opposite lane toward oncoming traffic. A vehicle attempting to avoid the out of control driver ended up crashing into a Stratford police vehicle. The operator of the offending vehicle, Bryce Laister ran away on foot but was apprehended by a bystander/witness as he ran from the scene on Stagg Street. Laister was charged with the following for the initial evading accidents: Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Misuse of a Marker Plate, No Insurance, and Operating with a Suspended License, Evading responsibility and Reckless Driving. The investigation into the accident on Surf Avenue is ongoing at this time. During this incident a dump truck was overturned, one police vehicle was heavily damaged and Surf Avenue was shut down for approximately six hours.
