#Westport Connecticut–The Westport Tree Board will celebrate Arbor Day with a Tree Seedling Give-Away on Friday, April 29 from 2-5 pm at the Lillian Wadsworth Arboretum located at 2 Woodside Lane. There will be a table set up near the corner of Stonybrook Road and Woodside Avenue.  This is the third such celebration of tree seedling giveaways in Westport where the Tree Board and Westport’s Tree Warden, Bruce Lindsay will be handing out seedling trees consisting of:

200 Flowering Dogwood               100 Norway Spruce                    100 River Birch

The seedlings will come with planting instructions for school-age children and residents of Westport on a first-come, first-serve basis. The tree seedling give-away has been made possible through the generous donation of Eversource Energy in recognition of National Arbor Day. According to Lindsay, “The Tree Board and I are looking to get Westport’s citizens the chance to see a working Arboretum and appreciate the value of planting a young tree in the community.”
