The Fairfield Public Library will be hosting an author talk with Dick Jorgensen on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:00. He will be discussing his new book, “O Tomodachi” in the Memorial Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

In 1954, as a twenty-nine- year-old grad student, Dick was selected to be one of four “ambassador” teachers in a first-ever exchange program with Japan. He would spend the next two years teaching at the University of Hiroshima, founded in the wake of the dropping of the atomic bomb there in 1945. Dick will take you along on an incredible journey that was also the start of a lifelong love of all things Japanese.
