#Westport Connecticut–In July of 2016, the victim of this incident reported she was scammed by the suspect, Bobby Megel, regarding repair work done to her vehicle. Megel solicited the victim to repair dents in her vehicle while she was on the Sherwood Island Connector. Megel convinced the victim to pay him $415.00 for the repair work. Megel made the vehicle appear fixed, but as time went on, he actually did more damage to it. The victim knew the suspects name because she originally wrote him a check addressed to him, but Megel convinced her to pay cash. The victim still had the check in her possession. An arrest warrant was completed for the charges listed above. On 11/09/16, Westport Officers responded to the Old Saybrook Police Department where Megel was being held for the active warrant. Megel has a court date in Norwalk on 11/16/16.    The victim is over the age of 60, making the charge Larceny 2 nd degree.
