Senator Takes Aim At Veteran Benefit Cuts

#Norwalk--  State Senator Bob Duff pledged to fight against a Connecticut Department of Military Affairs proposal to cut funding for Connecticut Honor Guard rifle salutes at military funerals. In 2015, Senator Duff and the Senate Democrats successfully led opposition to a similar plan.   “When Connecticut veterans are laid to rest they must continue to receive the honors they deserve,” said Senator Duff. “I will continue to fight for this important component of their final respects. Fairfield News: Condom Caper Capture

UPDATE: Many of you wanted to know who the suspect was.  Here is the Fairfield Police Press Release: Hernan Carlos Aponte, DOB 01/26/1990 was arrested and charged with 53a-125b, Larceny 6th after he was observed by Super Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., loss prevention enter the health and beauty aisle and place $295 worth of store merchandise into a tote bag and backpack and then exit the store, passing all points of sale, without making an attempt to pay. Aponte has a lengthy criminal history including similar thefts and several FTA's. He was transported to headquarters where he was fingerprinted, photographed and charged with 53a-125b, Larceny 6th. Aponte was given a $100 bond and a court date of 01/09/2017…

Norwalk News: Nursing Home Fire

UPDATE: One person was injured and sent to Norwalk Hospital in a mattress fire that sent residents into the cold.  Twenty five residents have been relocated to a hotel.   7:40pm--#Norwalk Connecticut-- A reported nursing home fire at 17 Nelson Avenue.  No reported injuries at this time.  Patients are being kept warm in ambulances outside of the facility.  Griffin Stover posted this photo on his Facebook page of the incident:
