Senator Murphy Awared Navy Distinguished Public Service Award

WASHINGTON – The United States Navy on Wednesday awarded U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) with the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, the “highest form of public service recognition bestowed by the Department of the Navy to civilians who demonstrate outstanding service of substantial and long-term benefit to the Navy, Marine Corps, or Department of the Navy as a whole.” Murphy was presented the award by the Navy’s Chief of Legislative Affairs, Rear Admiral James T. Loeblein, on behalf of Acting Secretary of Navy Sean Stackley.   “This is a huge and completely unexpected honor. Fairfield News: Child Hit By Car

Fairfield Police statement: On Saturday, 02/04/17 at 4:20pm, the Fairfield Police Department responded to a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle within the lot of Tomlinson Middle School, located at 200 Unquowa Road.  The  pedestrian was a juvenile who is a resident of Fairfield.  The vehicle involved, a 2006 Toyota Camry, was being operated by Gary Potmesil, a 76 year old male who resides in Norwalk. Potmesil was operating the Camry eastbound within the Tomlinson Middle School parking lot and collided with the juvenile with his front left fender.  The juvenile’s mother was on scene and called 911 immediately following the collision. The juvenile was transported to Bridgeport Hospital by AMR ambulance as a result of the injuries sustained.…
