UPDATE: Police confirm that at 11:23pm at 124 Seaside Avenue, the wife report that her husband was going to commit suicide and she fled to a neighbor’s house with her two children.  She told police he had a pistol permit and has guns.  Officers reporting to the scene heard a shot from the house.  A perimeter was set up and and neighboring homes were evacuated.  A short time later the suspcet waled out of the house with his hands up and was taken into custody without incident.

 

The suspect said the it was an accidental discharge of the a pistol in the basement and that he was not going to hurt himself.  The height and direction of the projectile/bullet shows it was not directed at police and was consistent with the suspect’s statement.  He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital under police guard.  Police removed five firearms from the residence.

 

11:50pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police have one man in custody after a shots fired incident at 124 Seaside Avenue in the Black Rock section of town.  There was a stand off for about fifteen minutes before police got him in custody. A number of firearms were taken in to custody found throughout the home.
