#Trumbull CT—On June 22, 2017, two males wanted for an attempted robbery of a Trumbull resident’s car at gunpoint, in a town park, were arrested a short time later by Fairfield Police after an attempted robbery there.

On Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:38 p.m., Trumbull Police received a report of an attempted carjacking at Twin Brooks Park located off White Plains Road. The 69 year old victim told police he was seated in his car in the park when a “young male” came up to his door, opened it and pointed a handgun at him. The male ordered the victim out of his car and began pulling on his shirt. The elderly male refused the robber’s demands, who then gave up after the defiant victim would not leave his car. Witnesses and the victim saw the suspect flee in an older grayish green car, which sped away toward Beaches Pool.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Fairfield Police received a report of an attempted robbery in the north end of their town on Easton Turnpike. A responding Fairfield officer located and stopped an older green Honda leaving the area with two males inside. Both the driver, 19- year-old Geraldo Coelho of Bridgeport and a 17-year-old Bridgeport juvenile passenger were arrested after a “BB gun” was located in the car. After an investigation lead by Fairfield detectives, it was determined that both males were involved in the Trumbull robbery attempt as well. Trumbull detectives investigated and verified that both suspects were also responsible for the Twin Brooks robbery attempt and they were obtaining arrest warrants for both.
