#Westport CT–On 08/19/2018 at approximately 10:00am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Post Road East. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of North Providence, Rhode Island. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the operator was identified as Adam Sipes, 34, of Bridgeport, CT. Officers learned the vehicle was an overdue rental, which was scheduled to be returned by 07/19/2018. As of 08/03/2018, Sipes had not returned the vehicle, nor had he made additional payments to extend the rental agreement. The rental company then reported the vehicle as stolen to the North Providence Police Department. Sipes was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where he was charged with 53a-122 Larceny 1 st Motor Vehicle Theft.
