#Norwalk CT–On April 18, 1996, human remains were found on Shea Island in Norwalk Harbor. No identification could be made at the time. Due to updates with the NGI fingerprint database run by the FBI, Lieutenant Weisgerber requested that the Latent Print Unit of the State of Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory re-examine the two developed fingerprints from the human remains. On February 14, 2019, Lieutenant Weisgerber received a call from Latent Print Examiner Anthony Villanueva that a positive identification had been made to the right ring finger. Landberto Quintero was identified as the man found on Shea Island in 1996. Anyone with any information about Mr. Quintero is asked to contact Lieutenant Weisgerber at 203-854-3164 or aweisgerber@norwalkct.org.

#Norwalk CT–On 02-17-19 at 2:16am officers were dispatched to the Norwalk Hospital for a report of an assault. Officers interviewed the victim, who reported having an altercation with unknown males in a bar on Washington Street. The victim then left the establishment and began walking back to a friend’s vehicle on Madison Street. While walking, the victim observed the males from the earlier altercation following the victim and the victim’s friends in a vehicle. As the victim entered a parking lot on Madison Street, the vehicle struck the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. The males then exited the vehicle and one of the males stabbed the victim in the abdomen. The suspects then fled the area in the vehicle. The victim’s friends transported the victim to the hospital via private car. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. 9:15PMish–#Bridgeport CT– An inmate allegedly set his mattress on fire in his cellblock, firefighters quickly took care of the situation and ventilated the structure. EMS was called to evaluate two guards for smoke inhalation. They were not transported to the hospital at the time of this posting.

1:00AMish—Around 1pm police attempted to pull over a car on Stratford Avenue but the car refused to pull over. Police said speeds of the pursuit was no more than 40 mph until the entered I-95 southbound. Police reported the car threw items out the window at exit 28 through exits 26. The car got off in Fairfield at exit 24 then headed towards the Staples circle when he doubled back the wrong way back on to Kings Highway East. The car rammed two Bridgeport Police cars on the way back into Bridgeport on North Avenue. The driver doubled back again on Maplewood Avenue and onto Mountain Grove Street where the pursuit ended.
