Police UPDATE:

The party shot in Bridgeport last night has been identified as 28-year-old Yahmad S. Roundtree of Bethany Connecticut.

On January 16, 2022 at approximately 10:32 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received reports of shots fired in the area of the Grill II Jamaican restaurant located at 1020 Broad Street.

Police located a victim on the ramp of the Margaret E Morton Government Center parking garage (State Street) suffering from multiple  gunshot wounds.  Responding officers rendered first aid and called medics to the scene.  The victim was quickly transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.  That person has been identified as a 28-year-old Bethany Connecticut man. The Bridgeport Detective Bureau has responded and is investigating. 

The Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau’s Identification Unit has completed the processing of a crime scene in the area of Broad Street & State Street in downtown Bridgeport.
