2022-06-16 Firefighters just finished with a commercial fire on Woodmont Road when another call just down the street on Lyda Drive. Speed was a big factor as the firefighters were able to rescue the elderly homeowner. She appeared to have smoke inhalation and she was transported to the hospital. Firefighters reported heavy fire on arrival but quickly knocked the bulk of the fire down. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
