Firefighters arrived on scene to a roof fire seemingly caused by the air ventilation system, but nothing at this time is confirmed. Firefighters quickly climbed to the roof where they extinguished the fire.

At approximately 4:15pm, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the 800 block of North Avenue to a fire in the area of the electrical panel which was quickly extinguished. UI has shut power off to the structure. No reported injuries and the Fire Marshal’s office is investigating. 9 adults are being relocated by the Red Cross.
